Avian Awareness Camp – Urban Avifauna of Guwahati & the Need for Conservation at Maria’s Public School, Guwahati, Assam by Sutirtha Lahiri, WildRoots, India
Sutirtha Lahiri, Assistant Secretary, Wild Roots, India had conducted an Avian Awareness Camp on Urban Avifauna of Guwahati & the Need for Conservation at Maria’s Public School, Guwahati, Assam, during 2014. This presentation was a part of an International Collaborative Project under the British Council International School Awards Programme which was based on the Conservation of Birds. During the camp, Sutirtha had interacted with the students of the senior secondary section and had encouraged them into activities relating to conservation. He had shared his own experiences about his own Birding Treks and Hikes in the hills within the city of Guwahati. The Students were encouraged further to see his amazing photographs of birds. The Camp was an essential addition to the International Projects that were undertaken by the school and had helped the institution is getting the prestigious International SchoolAward from the British Council, during the year 2014.
